Tero Is Powered by Renewable Energy
All of Tero’s servers run 100% on wind-generated electricity.
Servers and data centres account for 2% of the world’s carbon emissions. That's as much as the airline industry! The Internet uses so much power that if it were a country, it would rank #3 in the world in terms of electricity consumption.
Knowing this, we invested in sourcing only wind-generated electricity and supporting the transition to renewable energy. Every time you visit our website, see our new tab page or browse online using our extension, you can be sure that no emissions have been emitted.
And we didn't stop there...
- Our new servers are built with the most energy-efficient technologies possible, and once they have reached the end of their service life, they are recycled and disposed of appropriately.
- Our data centres use the most modern, energy-efficient hardware, so we can put more renewable energy back into the grid. Low-power processors deliver performance and help eliminate excess heat.
- Since cooling requires a considerable amount of electricity, we use data science and machine learning for more optimal cooling, as well as the integration of newer technologies like adiabatic or evaporative cooling.
With this investment, we hope to set an example for other companies to follow.
